Shop from the early explorations of what SAM HAM has always stood for.
From Pretty Dix to Honorable Pig, every piece shows the same instinct that runs through the work today: bold ideas, irreverent humour, and jewellery with something to say. These designs mark where it all began, playful, powerful, and unmistakably SAM HAM.
Ballz
It is about standing your ground and having the stones to chase what you want. Warding off fears the wearer may have. Subtle but ballsy statement pieces. I have designed the collection to play with scale. So dependant on the wearer and whether they are making a statement with a large pair of gold ballz hanging from their finger or a tiny charm on a fine chain around their neck - it is a playful, and cheeky comment on how we all have ballz. All of the pieces in the collection speak to the disruption of stereotypes that are at the heart of the brand.
Claddagh
The Claddagh is by tradition a wedding unisex band, however over time it went from being a wedding ring, to representing a ‘promise ring’ (an indicator of whether someone is taken or not), a gift between friends and finally a precious souvenir, either indicting Irish heritage or a love of Ireland. Sam’s love for Ireland, tied with the isolation that came for many during the pandemic lockdowns solidified her desire to create this collection.
Pretty Dix
Growing up it occurred to Sam that life would be easier if she had a d*ck. It felt very much like a Man's World... When she grew up, she made her own - and made sure it is was a beautiful one. Pretty Dix were born.
Sheriff
The ‘Sheriff Star‘, a symbol of authority but with comic re-appropriations. SAM HAM’s messaging circles around be your own boss, take charge whilst giving yourself a gold star rather than waiting for anyone’s approval. Self-praise is praise.
The Honorable Pig
Playing on the opposing ideas of what a pig is traditionally perceived to be, the Honourable Pig Collection carries on the SAM HAM Design tradition of turning stereotypes on their heads. Pigs are commonly viewed as dirty, greedy creatures but conversely are also known to be fiercely intelligent and often undeniably cute. To celebrate these contradictions, crafted in 9ct. gold, take defining and unmistakable characteristics of the pig, such as its iconic snout or curly tail, and combine them with a well-known symbol of honour, the shield.
Spoons
The first piece Sam ever made multiples of. Designed at university for a boyfriend a foot shorter, which made her the big spoon. End of discussion. What began as a private joke became a cult favourite, gifted between lovers, best friends, new mums, and anyone who understands the power of closeness without cliché. Two spoons. One chain. Big spoon energy.
